# Archived projects

> Find your archived projects in settings, bring one back to the sidebar, and learn why archiving a project doesn't free a project slot on your plan.

**Settings → Workspace → Archived** lists the projects you archived. Anyone can open it, but it
shows only projects you own. What archiving does is explained in
[Projects](/docs/concepts/projects).

## Unarchive a project

Press **"Unarchive"** on its row. The project returns as it was, with every link intact. The
confirmation toast has an **"Undo"**. Only the project's owner can unarchive it; the permission
to edit content created by others doesn't apply.

## Archiving doesn't free a slot

<Callout type="warn">
 Archived projects still count against the plan's project cap. Only deleting a
 project frees a slot.
</Callout>

Only the **Free** plan has a project cap. At the cap, delete projects you no longer need or
change plan in [Billing](/docs/settings/billing).
