# Trash

> Deleted files and skills stay in the trash for 30 days before they're removed for good. How to restore one, delete one now, and who can do either.

**Settings → Workspace → Trash** holds the assets and skills you deleted. Any member can open it,
and it lists only your own items.

  Items are deleted permanently after **30 days**, with no further warning.
  Restore them before then to keep them.

## Restore an item

    Select a tile to start selecting. A bar at the bottom shows the count.

    Items return unchanged, with the same visibility and the same chat, canvas or project links.

## Delete an item now

In the same bar, &#x2A;*"Delete forever"** skips the 30-day wait. It removes the file too, so any
canvas or chat that used it loses it. This can't be undone.

## What goes to the trash

## Who can restore or delete

* **Assets**: only the creator, whatever their role. See [Assets and
  visibility](/docs/concepts/assets-and-visibility).
* **Skills*&#x2A;: the creator, or whoever deleted it with &#x2A;*"Delete content created by others"**.
  If you already have the same skill from the catalog, delete that copy before restoring.

Deleting the [workspace](/docs/settings/workspace) also deletes its trash.
