Every conversation is saved. Recent ones are in the sidebar; all of them are on the Chats page.

Find a chat

  • Sidebar: the Chats section shows your ten most recent chats, and ten more each time you scroll to the end. It includes chats shared with you once you've replied in them, and leaves out scheduled task runs (those are under Scheduled → Activity).
  • Chats page: select the Chats label in the sidebar. It lists your chats and ones shared with you, grouped into Today, Yesterday, This week and Earlier, and loads more as you scroll.
    • The search box searches all chats, not just what's on screen.
    • "Add filter" filters by "Created by", "Access" ("Private" or "Shared") and "Project".
    • Each row shows the title, age, message count, access, and the owner's avatar if it isn't yours.

The command palette doesn't search chats. Use the search on the Chats page.

What "Shared" means here

The "Shared" filter lists every chat you can open that someone besides its owner can also open, including chats you shared. To see only your own, filter "Created by" to yourself.

Share a chat

A chat is private until its owner shares it. Open Share from the chat header or its ⋯ menu:

  • "General access": "Private" ("Only you") or "Workspace", where everyone in the workspace gets Can view or Can write.
  • Add people one by one with either role. A person's own role overrides the workspace's, even when it's lower.

A chat filed in a project is readable by everyone who can open the project, instead of its own workspace setting. People added directly keep their access. Only the chat's creator can move it into a project. See assets and visibility and shared chats.

Rename or delete

Open "More options" (⋯) on a row, in the sidebar, or in the chat header.

  • "Rename": available on your own chats and on chats where you have Can write, if your workspace role lets you create content.
  • "Delete": owner only. It deletes the chat for everyone it was shared with. Deleted chats don't go to the trash and can't be restored.

On a chat shared with you, Can view lets you read it; Can write also lets you send messages and rename it. Share shows who has access, and you can "Leave" from your own row. You can't leave when leaving would give you more access, for example when you hold Can view and the workspace has Can write.

Empty list

  • "No chats yet": you haven't started a conversation.
  • "No matching chats": remove a filter.
