Workspace
The workspace's name, address and logo — and the two different ways to end your relationship with it.
In the settings menu this page sits under Workspace and is listed as "General"; the page itself is headed "Workspace", with the subtitle "General, branding, and security." It holds the three things that identify the workspace to everyone in it — its logo, its name and its address — plus the way out for you, and the way out for the workspace.
Anyone in the workspace can open it. What changes with your role is whether the fields do anything.
Who can change what
Editing anything on this page needs the "Change workspace settings" permission, which only an admin holds by default. Without it the page still opens and still shows you the workspace's logo, name and address — but the Name and URL fields are greyed out, there is no "Save changes" button in the header, the logo's "Replace" and "Remove" buttons aren't rendered, and the whole Danger zone is absent. The one exception is "Leave workspace", which is always there for everyone — leaving is about you, not about the workspace's settings.
Branding
"How this workspace shows up."
Workspace logo
Shown next to the workspace everywhere it appears, including the switcher. The hint reads "PNG or SVG, square, transparent background." "Upload" to add one, "Replace" to swap it, "Remove" to fall back to the workspace's initial.
Name
What people call the workspace. Purely a label — changing it breaks nothing.
URL
The workspace's address, entered after the fixed endless.app/ prefix. This one is not just a label — see below.
The logo applies as soon as you upload it. Name and URL are a form: press "Save changes" in the page header to commit them.
Choosing a URL
Every page you open carries the workspace in its address, which is how two browser tabs can hold two different workspaces at once — the mechanic is explained in Workspaces and members.
Endless checks the address as you type it and refuses the four things that can't work:
- "Use at least 3 characters."
- "Use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens."
- "That URL is reserved. Choose a different one." — a handful of words Endless keeps for itself.
- "That URL is already taken. Choose a different one." — another workspace has it.
Changing the URL changes every link into this workspace. Bookmarks, links pasted into a chat or a doc, and anything a teammate saved will point at an address the workspace no longer answers to. Settle on one early, or leave it alone.
Leaving vs. deleting
Two sections at the bottom of the page do superficially similar things and are not interchangeable.
Leave workspace
"Remove yourself from this workspace. You keep your Endless account and can rejoin if you're invited again." The row spells out the cost: "You'll lose access to all its chats, canvases, and assets."
Available to everyone, whatever their role. Two situations stop it: if you're the last admin, Endless says "You're the last admin. Transfer admin role to another member first."; if you're the only member left, it says "You're the only member. Delete the workspace instead."
Delete workspace
The Danger zone — "Deleting the workspace removes all chats, canvases, transcripts, and assets." — and it is as final as it sounds: "This can't be undone."
Only someone who can change workspace settings sees this section at all. Confirming it means typing the workspace's name, after a dialog that lists what goes: all canvases and their contents, all uploaded and generated assets, all chats and transcripts, and all member access and settings.
Deleting the workspace is not the same as deleting your account, which is on Profile and takes any workspace where you're the only member with it.
