About Claude Haiku 4.5
Claude Haiku 4.5 arrived in October 2025 as a fast, compact Claude model built for responsiveness. It reads text and images, holds 200K tokens of context, roughly 150,000 words, and can write up to 64K tokens in a reply. For harder questions it supports extended thinking with a set budget, so it can reason before answering.
It was designed for real-time, low-latency jobs such as chat assistants, customer service agents and pair programming. A common pattern is to let a larger model plan the work and hand subtasks to several Haiku instances in parallel. It also handles quick summaries and short, well-defined code changes.
Claude Haiku 5.5 is now the current Haiku, with a 1M-token context and much stronger coding and computer use. Haiku 4.5 remains a simple option for short, fast exchanges, and you can move to Haiku 5.5 in the same Endless workspace.
